Last week I found out that I was the lucky winner of an Instagram competition run by Letterbox Gifts. I’m usually rubbish at winning things so I was pretty excited about this, particularly because it was gin related! The competition itself was pretty easy, just a simple like and follow, the fact that even I can win something should be encouragement enough for you lot to enter if you see a competition of a similar ilk!
Whilst waiting for my winnings to arrive, I had a sneaky peak at the Letterbox Gifts website and did a bit of a search online to find out a little bit more about them. All the products in Letterbox Gifts are made in Britain, with each gift set being hand-wrapped in a workshop in Sheffield. The gift boxes are designed to be delivered straight through standard letterboxes to avoid making any annoying trips to the post office or having to bother the neighbours…again! It seems that there is a Letterbox Gift for every occasion, and each gift set is sent out with a complimentary greetings card which can be personalised. Letterbox Gifts also offer subscriptions, where a different Letterbox Gift comes through the door each month.
Now, flash forward only a few days and I received a picture message from Hubby.
He didn’t have to answer the door, the parcel was inside, therefore this box must have fitted through the letterbox! A definite success on the packaging size and time saved on having to traipse to the sorting office.
I must say the gift was beautifully presented and looked so pretty that I just had to take a whole bunch of pictures of the packaging alone. It is obvious that a great deal of time and care goes into boxing and wrapping these gifts. The box comprises of an outer sleeve, which slides off easily to reveal the box inside. A simple cardboard clasp is then released and voila, into the goodies!

I was absolutely sure that I would but first I had to bring myself to rip the beautifully folded tissue paper. I know I’m harping on about the packaging again, it really isn’t my fault, I get it from my dad…you ought to see how long it takes us to wrap (and unwrap) Christmas pressies!
You would genuinely never know that this box had been through our postal system. The contents are so well packaged that I’m pretty sure they had barely moved a millimetre. A gin recipe card was the first thing that greeted me, asking if I fancied getting creative with my gin. This definitely sounded like a dangerous plan for a Tuesday evening! The recipe card is a great addition if you don’t fancy just having a quick G&T and definitely gives the box something more of a celebratory feel. Well I don’t know about you, but I am prone to a few cocktails and a touch of prosecco on a special occasion, (like a Tuesday night…)
In addition to the recipe card, my gin box contained two gin o’clock coasters, a tin of “gin botanicals” which can be used as garnishes in your cocktails or G&Ts and of course gin. Two miniature 5cl bottles, one Silent Pool and the other Pinkster. The botanical tin contained pink peppercorns and rose petals and are a suggested garnish for one of the cocktails on the recipe card.
Retailing at £29.95, this is a gorgeous option if you are looking for a gift for your gin loving friend, and is also completely Vegan friendly if that is something which you have to consider.
