I couldn’t actually believe it when I heard that Malfy had added another gin to their range…Malfy Con Arancia. Already being a fan of the Con Limone and a Super Fan of their Originale, I went a bit Veruca Salt about wanting a bottle and got a little overexcited when it finally arrived!
I have had a great time over the past few weeks, letting the creative gin juices flow whilst experimenting with the new tipple, which is made with, amongst other things, the peel of Sicilian blood oranges. The colour is bold, bright and vibrant and looks stunning against the instantly recognisable Malfy logo. As soon as the bottle is opened the scent of sweet orange blossom is released and you are instantly thrown into a burst of sunshine. The flavour is just as bold as it’s colour, zesty and zingy and definitely not for the faint hearted.
Here are my favourite three serving suggestions, designed to tantalise your tastebuds and hurtle you head first into the holiday mood…well, this is England and who knows how long the good weather is going to last, so we may as well embrace this early summer while we can!
Malfy Margarita
You’re going to need:
- 30 ml Malfy Con Arancia
- 30 ml London Dry Gin
- 20 ml Fresh Lime Juice
- Sea Salt
- Ground Cumin
- Orange (optional garnish)
Firstly you’ll nee to crush the sea salt and cumin together to create a mixture. Next rub the rim of the glass with lime juice and coat with the sea salt/cumin mix. Pour the Malfy Con Arancia, Gin and lime juice into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into your glass and enjoy!
Malfy Rosemary G&T
You’re going to need:
- 50 ml Malfy Con Arancia
- 1 bottle Poacher’s Orange and Rosemary Tonic
- Sprig of fresh rosemary (optional garnish)
Simple and effective, this really is quite a combination. Although both flavours are bold, the rosemary and blood orange compliment each other beautifully and create something which is quite subtle, fresh and definitely summery!
Malfy Spritz
You’re going to need:
- A splash of Malfy Con Arancia
- Prosecco
- Crushed ice
If you’re really looking for sunshine in a glass, or a colourful sunset in a glass, then this is the summer tipple for you…and it’s super easy to make. Just add a splash (or two) of Malfy Con Arancia to a glass with ice, top up with Prosecco, sit back and relax! Told you it was easy!
Thank you Malfy, you have done it again, your range really does have something for everyone, could you possibly have any more up your sleeve? If their website is anything to go by it’s going to be Gin Rosa…you guys really need to stop doing this to me!!!
